PlayStation 5 Pro: Everything you need to know

The PlayStation 5 has been out for a couple of years now, having launched in November 2020, but new rumours suggest that a Pro version could be set to launch a lot sooner than we’d expected. So, what will this look like and when will you be able to get your hands on one?

Here’s all we know about the PS5 Pro.

When will the PlayStation 5 Pro be released?

According to an article by TechCrunch, Sony is planning on releasing another video game console in the near future. They’re currently working on developing it.

There’s a lot of speculation as to what the future will hold for gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but PPE reports that TCL will debut its first PlayStation 5 (PS5. and next-generation Xbox consoles in This is just speculation. But it’s probably not a coincidence that this prediction is also in line with earlier rumors about a launch date.

And as such, it does tie in with the various rumours that have been reported by WCCF Tech and earlier posts by PPE. It’s the perfect example of how Sony is playing catch up and building its own ecosystem while trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible with the PS4.

1.This console was first introduced back in

2. The Pro model followed on three years later in

We’re confident that the 2023-24 timeframe will work out well.

One of the main reasons people have been expecting an even later release date is because Sony has been struggling to get enough stock of the PS5’s processor, which is going to be vital for the console’s This has made it hard to make the custom Zen 2 chip that would be necessary for a gaming computer. It’s also made it hard to fabricate the graphics cards that would be necessary for gaming.

I can’t imagine that Sony has given up on the PlayStation 3, but if they have, they would be a bit shortsighted.

How much will the PS5 Pro cost?

As Sony has not yet announced its plans for the PS5, pricing has not been revealed, but we expect it to be in line with the previous models.

As an indicator, we can look to the previous generation.

1.The price of the PS4 at launch was $399/£349/€

2. This was followed by the PS4 Pro which cost $399/£349/€

The new PS4 is priced higher than the older model, but at the same time they are discounted by the same amount, so in this sense they are the same price. You get the standard version for $499/£449/€499 and the digital for $399/£359/€399.

If Sony holds the same course for this generation, it’ll likely see a new PS5 Pro enter its price range that’s more than what it currently has at $499 USD. Compare the PS5 Standard and PlayStation 5 Digital versions of FIFA 18. Find out which one is right for you.

What specs and features will we see in the PS5 Pro?

At this time, we still don’t know the technical details of the device. The leaked TCL info had some actual specs, though. In the slide, the company said that the next generation console will be based around a Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics processor. This is part of the Radeon RX 7000 series that will launch in 2022. Use this for your content:

There are two new AMD GPUs in the RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 XT Refresh. The Navi 20-core part has a 32nm manufacturing process and comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, 2048 stream processors, and a 256-bit memory interface. This laptop should support DirectX 12 Ultimate with hardware-raytracing and variable rate shading capabilities.

The new hardware from TCL will be able to render at resolutions up to 2160p/120fps, and output in 8K/120fps. This would be a major step forward for the next-generation of the PS5 Pro, which is exactly what you’d expect.

With all the details out in the open for the first time, it seems like Sony will deliver a solid  machine that will meet the expectations of gamers around the world. Even if TCL has no idea what a PS5 Pro would look like or has no plan to design one, it’s pretty obvious the PS5 Pro would need to be backwards compatible with PS4.
